Minimum deposit vs card issuance fee
A deposit funds an account or collateral position. An issuance fee pays for creating a card. Equal dollar amounts do not make these charges equivalent.
Cashback caps and the effective reward rate
A headline cashback rate applies only until a cap or exclusion reduces the reward. The effective rate is the reward actually retained divided by the relevant purchase amount.
Refunds and cashback reversals
A refund can reverse previously credited cashback. A partial refund should be assessed against the original reward, not treated as a new cashback-earning transaction.
Foreign-exchange fees and virtual-card costs
A free virtual card can still have conversion, network or borrowing costs. The card fee and the cost of using the card are different measures.
Virtual vs physical cards: format is not acceptance
A virtual card is a digital card credential rather than a plastic card. Card format alone does not establish merchant acceptance, ATM access, wallet support or country eligibility.
Credit, debit and prepaid cards: what to verify
Credit, debit and prepaid describe different ways purchases are funded. Crypto-backed branding or a network name does not, by itself, establish the legal card classification.
